ICU/HDU LIVE Theatre Upgrade and Refurbishment – Royal Albert and Edward Infirmary, Wigan

Timescale: 12 weeks

This project (value: £500K+) was to upgrade the existing HDU/ICU unit which included specialist Mechanical and Electrical works and a full refurbishment. The site was managed in two separate parts to enable the unit to remain operational throughout. The Project was completed 2 weeks ahead of a tight deadline.

St. Johns Hospice, Forget Me Not Centre – Lancaster

Timescale: 9 months

We demolished an existing lodge building to create a purpose built facility for hospice patients and family members which included groundworks, construction of the timber framed building, full mechanical and electrical package, external works, cladding, kitchen fit out, toilet facilities, offices and indoor and outdoor recreational spaces.

Wrightington Hospital Car Park and Civil Works – Wrightington

Value approx: £250k

Timescale: 10 weeks

This job consistent of the formation of a new 50 space car park, including full new ducting system, street lighting, new drainage systems, excavation, and end surface finishing including line marking spaces, pathways and fencing.

Jean Hayes Rehabilitation Unit, Leigh Infirmary – Leigh

Value approx: £1.5m

Timescale: 5 months

Refurbishment project to create a new 24 bed ward, consisting of extensive structural alterations, full M+E packages, high specification finishing of the main ward and en suites, external areas, living and recreational spaces.

Operating Theatre Refurbishment Works, Royal Albert and Edward Infirmary – Wigan

Value approx: £400k

Timescale: 3 months

Structural alterations were made to the main entrance to the operating theatres, in phases to allow for the theatres to remain live throughout. We also constructed new storage spaces, reception, waiting area, and isolation bed bays, including full M+E packages. These works were meticulously planned and turned around within the tight timescales given to reduce impact on the running of the hospital and theatres.

Elective Ambulatory Unit, Wrightington Hospital – Wrightington

Value approx: £650k

Timescale: 4 months

Alterations to the existing theatre to create a new elective ambulatory unit, full M+E package including AHU, dry lining external walls, structural works, roofing, formation of a new entrance, reception, utility rooms, a 4 bed bay, disabled toilets, offices, and anaesthetist room.

Main Entrance Works, Leigh Infirmary – Leigh

Value approx: £30k

Timescale: 3 weeks

Stripping out and formation of car park basin and surfacing to create new designated one way system road whilst keeping existing entrance way accessible. Installation of barriers, tarmac, lamp posts, ducting and all associated works.

Wrightington Hospital Theatres Upgrade

Timescale: 16 weeks

Refurbishment of 4 main theatres carried out theatre by theatre basis whilst other theatres were still operating in a live environment this meant careful planning with hygiene considerations being a key factor, works consisted of installing a new roof covering and electrical improvement, full door replacements to theatres, structural repairs, drainage repairs and new mechanical installations flooring replacement throughout, ceiling repair & redecoration works

Wrightington Hospital Conference Centre Phase 1 – Wrightington

Value approx: £145k

Timescale: 16 weeks

Demolition of internal layout structure in order to create new office block with toilets and kitchen and all new services. During the project, structural issues were found within the demolition process which created a need for further structural support to the building shell, including new walls, timber preservation measure and extensive propping work over 4 floors.

Wrightington Hospital Conference Centre Phase 2 – Wrightington

Value approx: £250k

Timescale: 18 weeks

Work consisted of the demolition of existing internal layout of area of building, the creation and refurbishment of new offices, meeting rooms and staircase. Also included in the renovation was the repair and replacement of the existing historically listed sash windows of the building.

Covid 19 Response and Emergency Work – Royal Albert and Edward Infirmary/ Wrightington Hospital/ Leigh Infirmary

Timescale: March/April 2020 Lockdown

We were approached by the trust to carry out emergency repairs and installations at the trust properties in response to the Covid 19 Pandemic, works included the creation of a new oxygen tank base and compound, site establishment and waste compound for the emergency ward. The formation of covid testing stations, external works/groundworks maintenance and repairs, and other on site alterations/modifications.

RAEI Kitchen drainage and flooring upgrade – Wigan

Value approx: £32k

Project consisted of stripping out the existing kitchen in order to replace the tiled floor with a non-slip resin floor with inset bespoke stainless steel channel drainage. Work was carried out outside of working kitchen hours to avoid disruption and ensure it could remain fully functional throughout works.
