Insurance projects are often varied and require a depth of knowledge to allow the restoration/improvement/rebuild to be as previous or required. Whether it be complete remedial work to restore a building to its former state prior to damage or a new development to resolve a previous problem.

Witherslack Hall

Value approx: £25k

Timescale: 5 weeks

Following impact damage, installed structural scaffold to hold archway in place whilst we removed damaged stone, numbering each to ensure replacement in correct position, forming of arch template, rebuilding in correct sequence to replicate previous appearance, work carried out on grade 2 listed building.

Leigh Infirmary RAAC Replacement Scheme

Value approx: £620k

Timescale: 6 months

Full removal of RAAC concrete roof throughout site, including temporary propping, safe removal of existing roof and complete installation of new roof, including roof lights, drainage, internal refurbishment to disturbed rooms. Structural design completed in house. Working in live hospital environment.

Failed Retaining Wall - Chorley School

Value approx: £40k

Timescale: 4 weeks

After investigation the retaining wall at a local Chorley primary school was shown to be moving, we acted immediately to install a structural scaffold to shore the wall but also leave space to be able to carry out the work while being protected and holding the wall in position. The work the consisted of excavating several pads and install reinforcement concrete, to which new bespoke steel was fixed to concrete base and against the failed wall holding in position. The steel were then built in with brickwork and a composite fence systems was fixed to the top to prevent falls. All works was carried out in a live school environment .

Warehouse and Office Unit Skelmersdale

Timescale: 4 weeks

Fire damage restoration works- the works comprised of the careful removal of the existing fire damaged elements of the building structure in cladding full asbestos roofs and reinstated the property with new composite roof sheets and structural elements, work was carried out to phases to ensure business can still function in order to do this we ensured all stock was waterproofed, removed and reinstalled racking. Other works consisted of new lighting, roller shutters, decoration, suspended ceiling systems, partitions

Highcross Road

Structural works and partial re build following vehicle collision- The works comprised of the careful removal of the existing impact damaged elements of the building structure and fabric at ground and first floor levels, emergency response to make property safe and stabilise building

Alfred Street Fire Damage Insurance – Blackpool

Timescale: 6 weeks

We were instructed by the client to make the building watertight and safe. The building was propped over three floors to allow for the fire damaged staircases/floors to be removed with a temporary internal scaffold installed to create safe access in order to carry out further surveys and stabilisation works.

Failed Culvert Insurance Work – Blackpool

Value approx: £50k

Timescale: 10 weeks

This project involved specialised civil engineering works to demolish a failed retaining wall in order to establish the exact structural problem. Once the issue was identified works included the bridge piling and concrete encasement of the damaged culvert and complete rebuild of the wall with structural concrete reinforcement.

Failed Bridge Insurance Work- Hebden Bridge

Timescale: 3 months

This project involved the rebuild of a failed stone bridge in the National Park area of Todmorden. Works were completed here with an extensive amount of input, guidance and advice from Huck Construction to allow for the best and safest long term remedial action.

Water Damage House – Dalton

Value approx: £25k

Timescale: 5 weeks

Following on from extensive water damage, works included a complete strip out of the affected and damaged areas and state of the art refit. Huck Construction worked hard with the client to meet tight deadlines and achieve the clients bespoke and high expectations.
